H100s – Live in Cleveland LP (black /500)

This LP was another birthday present.
This is a live record from snotty hardcore punk rock band H100s. Recorded in 1995 during a show with a line up consisting of Integrity, 25 Ta Life, Apartment 213 and One Life Crew (I read this on the internets so I this could most likely be wrong) the band rip through an amazing set and the banter is hilariously unapologetic.
This is my introduction to this band and it leaves me craving more.
This is released through Stomp ‘Yer Gonads and limited to 500 copied and has a hand silk screened sleeve which is pretty cool.

Brainwaves – 7” (black)

I was given this Melbourne band’s 7” for my birthday. I quite liked the angular and jerky female fronted punk rock that Brainwaves play. I also liked the simple artwork.
Unfortunately these guys seem to be breaking up so go and see them while you can. You can find details on their Tumblr.

Arms Reach – Discography

This is a great 3 disc collection of classic Newcastle hardcore band Arms Reach material of their time as a band spaning from 1997 – 2000. Disc one is recorded material, disc two is unreleased and live stuff and disc three is a DVD with some live stuff.
The packaging is great, folding out to three panels and a tonne of great pictures.
Singer Luke Dolan had gone on to sing in The Dead Walk and White Male Dumbinance.
I really enjoyed this and there really is a lot of material here to keep you happy.

FFO: Infest, The Dead Walk and His Hero Is Gone.

Fistmouth – Stay Gold EP

Fistmouth are a local Sydney hardcore punk band. I haven’t had a chance to see them live yet which is pretty disappointing on my part. Anyway, they have a pretty unique sound which is really refreshing.
Stay Gold is up for free download on their Myspace and Facebook.
The EP also has a cover of Dead Kennedy’s ‘Police Truck’ which I think they pulled off.

FFO: Black Flag, Break Even.

Fishbone – Still Stuck In Your Throat

Fishbone are truly unique. They blend a fusion of funk, punk, rock, reggae and ska seamlessly together into one big party. They are politically incorrect, socially conscious and are having a hell of a fun time doing it.
I haven’t listened to Fishbone before so this was my first introduction to the band, and it was damn good.
There is a new doco about Fishbone, which you can find out about here.
Check these guys out and if you get a chance to see them live DO IT! From watching videos they look like they are amazing live.

FFO: Bad Brains, Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Ghostlimb/Fischer – Split

This split was my first introduction to both these bands, and I was pleasantly surprised. Ghostlimb play pissed off, aggressive and intense hardcore in the vein of other bands on Vitriol Records. Fischer is at the more melodic punk end of things that I could see playing with bands on No Idea Records.
This split is up for free download at the Vitriol Records bandcamp but as soon as I see a hard copy of anything these bands’ releases I’m going to buy the shit out it. I recommend everyone else to do the same.

Ghostlimb FFO: Dangers, Graf Orlock, pretty much any band on Vitriol Records
Fischer FFO: End of a Year, Jawbreaker, Leatherface.
