I first saw
Homeward Bound play at The Valve Bar for Holy Hardcore. I had no clue who these
guys were and they hooked me in. I managed to catch them again a couple of
times after when I have been a lot more sober and they had the same effect.
‘Chorus Of
Castouts’ is their debut album of melodic punk rock that makes you want to grow
a beard and sing-along in a sweaty basement with your friends and a bunch of
beers. The melodies get stuck in your head and the sing alongs are plenty. The
only thing I found was that the stronger songs tended to be towards the beginning
of the album.
Having been mixed by Brian McTernan at Salad Days Studios,
there isn’t much to deter you from picking up this album.
